Hyun Wook tells Se Na he doesn't care she is Yoon Se Na anymore. He holds her in a sweet embrace. As he walks her home, he talks back everything he said about not seeing her. Se Na finds out it is his birthday today.
She pulls Hyun Wook to their local corner shop. Se Na is persistent at winning a good prize from the toy machine (the ones where you put a coin in and turn the handle... not sure what they're called). Finally, she gets a star shaped ring and gifts it to Hyun Wook. They both lean in close to figure out whether the ring glows in the dark.
As a detour before home time, Se Na takes Hyun Wook to a park. She tells him to sit and not turn around. Se Na starts to draw in the dirt.
Se Na gifts him with the world's biggest cake. Se Na gives him a
peck on the lips as her real present. Passing on her fever to him. Back at home, Se Na relays the good news to Joo Hong and boyfriend.
Se Na gives Hyun Wook a call, asking whether he is ok because she feels fine now. Once they hang up, Hyun Wook starts coughing.
The next morning, Hyun Wook gives Se Na a ride to the company. She questions him as to when he started liking her. What does he like about her... and so on.
In his office Hyun Wook is reminded of Hae Yoon by Sung Jin. Hae Yoon arrives as Hyun Wook leaves her office in his search to find her, they go out for a talk. He returns her birthday gift because he couldn't keep his promise (to stay away from Se Na).
Obviously upset, Hae Yoon says she won't be able to keep her promise either, (to not tell Se Na the truth) asking how he would feel about that. Hyun Wook says that would mean wouldn't be able to see both Se Na and Hae Yoon. That being said he wouldn't resent Hae Yoon for it.
Se Na worries over how to write a song that can touch a person's heart. Shi Woo response is: my face is touching enough... Shi Woo tells Se Na to stay close to him as to find out what type of guy he is in order for her to write a song to suit him.
He also mentions she got prettier after getting sick. No you were always pretty.
Hae Yoon meets up with Jae Young. He offers her a spot at his company. He prompts her to remember - she spilt the beans about Se Na being related to So Eun. She asks for him to keep it to himself for now.
Shi Woo takes Se Na shopping. He asks for her fashion advice as he buys a handbag for his mother. He takes Se Na to his mother's choir group (she's a junior high student?), but finds a reporter harassing his mother. He wants to report that his mother attends Junior High.
Shi Woo doesn't want articles going out that will make his mother feel degraded by her friends. The reporter is pushing for the report to come out because it will help Shi Woo. The reporter ends up leaving less than happy. Shi Woo argues with his mother; why she has to grovel to everyone, asking for them to look after her son.
Se Na witnesses this and follows Shi Woo out. Lecturing him once again about being lucky to have a mother, someone he can say "I love you" to. Se Na wishes she had one. He says that she can think of his mother as her own.
Shi Woo: Isn't your husband's mother your mother?
Green-eyed Hyun Wook calls to check up on Se Na. She had been in the practice room for a while. Se Na has come up with lyrics to fit Shi Woo and his mother's relationship but is yet to come up with a melody.
Se Na readies for her date with Hyun Wook the next morning. But he phones in to say he is sick. Se Na arrives at his house, Hyun Wook is wrapped in his blanket like a burrito.
Se Na has a failed attempt at making fried rice, so she cuts fruit instead. As Hyun Wook sleeps, Se Na tells him that it is enough to just be with him because she gets to see his face.
Meanwhile, Hae Yoon has no appetite and Wifey has gone to a fortune teller who tells her to get married to her business partner rather than conducting business together.
Wifey arrives back home to have hubby confront her meeting Mr Kang (Tae Min). Asking whether it's an affair or are they plotting to take the company from him. Wifey threatens to pull the hair out of the child and get a DNA test. Hubby asks for her to wait a couple of days then he will explain it all.
Hyun Wook, Shi Woo and Se Na listen to the song she has written.
Se Na comes back to show Shi Woo the first line to the song she wrote with the concept of a letter to a mother. I'm glad I can see your face and be with you. Shi Woo volunteers to write the rest of the lyrics.
Hae Yoon hands in her resignation. Jae Young waits for the moment Hae Yoon drives up to her place. Asking why she hasn't picked up her phone all day. She makes it clear she won't be entering his company but is resigning from AnA. Also it will be best for him to forget what she told him when she was drunk, asking if he doesn't he feel the slightest guilt towards Se Na as he was partially at fault for her sister dying. He is adamant it wasn't his fault, that is was their fault for not trusting each other?!
Se Na asks Hyun Wook for song advice as she is stuck as to where the melody should go next. He has a suggestion but freezes up as his hands hover above the keys. He tells her that she must write the song herself since it's her project.
Se Na: Can't you write songs again? I want to hear the songs you write. If I want to hear your songs, I'll make you fall more deeply in love.
Hyun Wook can't answer her. Se Na leaves for home and has girl talk time with Joo Hong. As Hyun Wook attempts to play the key board he thinks of Se Na's words. He can't bring himself to play.
We see hubby playing soccer with Min Jae (his other son). He tells Ji Yoon that he won't be able to see their son often anymore as he has to tell his family the truth.
The AnA board are preparing for Shi Woo's comeback today with the absence of Hae Yoon. All the staff are praising Se Na writing skills, Tae Min even says the song made him tear up.
Both Se Na and Shi Woo are nervous backstage but they both calm each other down. Se Na runs into Jae Young, he tells her that there was an artist he once knew that Se Na reminds him of. Yoon So Eun. Feigns that he would have treated her better if he had known earlier...
Shi Woo introduces himself as Young Bok (his birth name). He dedicates the song to all the mothers in the world. As Shi Woo sings the audience start shedding tears. As well as his mother who is in the crowd watching.
Shi Woo draws Se Na for a hug as he comes to the waiting room again. Hyun Wook calls to congratulate the two and tells Se Na to come back to the company if she's done. Shi Woo asks her not to leave so they can celebrate together. Se Na chooses to leave, prompting Shi Woo to ask whether Se Na likes Hyun Wook. He gets no answer.
Hyun Wook buys a necklace for Se Na. Back at the recording studio he tries to place the gift so it is in her line of vision. Before he does so, Se Na enters the dark room as Hyun Wook hurriedly sits on the chair. Hinting at the box.
The two have dinner.
Se Na notes that it is like a dream to have met Hyun Wook. You should have appeared in my life 3 years ago. Se Na also mentions that she is thinking of her sister a lot today, wishing she could have brought her to the broadcast, introduced her to Hyun Wook.
She even tells her of her run-in with Jae Young and him knowing her sister. She asks whether Hyun Wook knows her too.
