Se Na is thinking of the words Hyun Wook said about her being special.
We flashback to the conversation last night as Se Na releases the balloon of her grasp. Hyun Wook grabs it and returns the ballon safely back to her.
Hyun Wook: Don't let go of something once you grab it. No matter what it is.
Hae Yoon has a conversation with Se Na asking how she feels about the battle. Se Na feels really burdened. Hae Yoon advises her not to do it, that giving up is the best option to settle things between President Hyun Wook and Producer Jae Young.
Jae Young finds the two and asks whether Se Na doesn't fear anything because she has the president's backing. Jae Young expects Se Na to win through her own merit, not by getting help.
He is cocky as ever, claiming it will be a good experience for her to hit rock bottom so she can come back to her senses.
Se Na finds a melted ice cream on top of her bag in her locker. Hyun Wook peaks from behind, startling her. He asks why the ice cream is there, she diverts attention. He now asks whether she has found a concept for her title song?
A trainee(?) over hears the conversation. She looks less than pleased.
Se Na: Can you stop looking after me when we're at the company?... I'll look after myself from now on.
After Se Na leaves, Hyun Wook looks in her locker once again, understanding the situation.
In the office, Shi Woo asks why Hyun Wook is making a joke out of MHDR's title song. Hyun Wook advises Shi Woo to make up with the others.
Shi Woo: You should call the other members and tell them. I'm not the one who causes trouble.
Shi Woo is adamant. Hyun Wook gives him a movie ticket and tells him to take a selfie with them to upload onto his SNS. "Unless you want to face a lawsuit.".
Hyun Wook receives a call in the office and immediately knows it's his father. He is getting discharged, he called to ask why Hyun Wook isn't here. He throws back his father's words, "You said you won't pay me unless I stay here until seven".
Father: What are you going to do with the money. Come here and pay the hospital bill!... Why are you pretending to be so busy? Ok. Then I'll see you at home.
Cut to a pan of the family house. Hyun Wook is immediately questioned about the battle.
Father: Even if that songwriter of yours turns out to be a genius, leave Jae Young alone. We don't know what he'll be like if we get on his bad side. Don't give a knife to a guy who can stab you in the back.
Se Na is lacking inspiration, she attributes this to being hungry. She hears a "YA!! You!", she looks up to see 3 students.
They relocate to an alley way. They all accuse her of flirting with Shi Woo. Speak of the devil, Shi Woo steps out of his taxi and notices Se Na. Se Na schools them about using honorifics. The ring leader pushes Se Na onto a trash bag and warns her to leave Shi Woo alone.
Se Na doesn't let it go and grabs the ring leader's pony tail. Shi Woo steps in to blame Se Na for touching his fans.

Shi Woo is all worried about them missing their buses and offers to call a taxi for them to take home.
Se Na cleans her self up at a bathroom as Shi Woo waits. Se Na scolds him for not telling his fans to back off since they were the ones to hit her first.
Shi Woo: This way you get hurt less. If I defended you, those kids wouldn't have taken it lightly. Being tough with you is the quickest way to get the fans off your back.
Se Na: (lost for words - sacasm) Wow. Thanks, I'm moved to tears... But what are you doing here this time of night?
Shi Woo: I'm most comfortable at the hotel. Cafes, bars, restaurants... all make me uncomfortable.
Se Na: It must be hard being a celebrity.
Shi Woo reminds her it isn't a time to worry about others but of her battle. He gives her his hat so she won't be as easily seen by his fans. "If you get hurt, it'll be an annoying mess."
Se Na: What kind of song do you want to sing?
Shi Woo: A song that will be number one.
Se Na is a mess as she can't come up with anything.
Joo Hong's boyfriend encourages her to find a hook. They aren't of much help.
Meanwhile, Hyun Wook is worried about whether Se Na is doing well. He asks Dal Bong to bark if he thinks Se Na will win or to pant if Jae Young is to win. Dal Bong barks.
Hyun Wook leans in close, conveying that Dal Bong has said that he is still worried and thinks Hyun Wook should still check on Se Na. "Well, if you want me to go, there's nothing I can do. Let's go!"
Se Na has a sudden burst of happiness to see Hyun Wook and Dal Bong but that is quick to die down. Se Na turns for the corner shop to buy an ice cream, Hyun Wook grabs the same one. They bicker about who should release it.
The shop keeper reminds them that there is more than one of that flavour. Hyun Wook grabs the ice cream, seemingly very proud of himself.
Hyun Wook's bubble is burst when he realises he forgot his wallet.
As Hyun Wook walks
Next morning. Min Ah is being lectured by Wife about her posture. Not paying attention, she almost crashes into Tae Min's car. She pretend faints to avoid the situation as she exits her car.
She slow-mo flicks her hair into Tae Min's mouth.
Hae Yoon dicusses what Ra Eum is going to where for her next event. Ra Eum suggest for her group member Jenny to wear the more revealing dress so that her scars show through...
Hyun Wook interrupts by mentioning the shoes that were supposed to be given to Ra Eum. She grabs it and immediately tries them on and asks for Hyun Wook's opinion.
Hyun Wook asks to see Hae Yoon. Ra Eum notices that Hae Yoon fixing her self up. Ra Eum tells Hae Yoon to talk of her heels, she smashes the heel and breaks it. She asks whether Hae Yoon likes him, Hae Yoon is flustered. "There is no point in spending so much time together if there isn't a definitive moment".
Hyun Wook tells Hae Yoon to hang in there. The broken heel makes her slip. Jae Young happens to see this.
Hyun Wook: You're the one who needed the shoes.
Min Ah is having her vocal training with Wife instructing her how to sing... Sun Jin, her vocal trainer is also taught how to do his job by her. Angered, he excuses himself to use the restroom.
Jae Young is called for a meeting with Hyun Wook to set the rules for the battle, starting with a blind test next week. Jae Young is being a brat and says Se Na can't use his team to arrange her song, so he suggests Se Na use Hyun Wook to arrange her song.
Jae Young: Seems you've replaced So Eun. You've totally fallen for the new face.
Hyun Wook: Shut your mouth. I can't stand hearing So Eun's name coming out of your mouth.
Jae Young: Don't make excuses. I'm not the one who killed So Eun.
Hyun Wook pins Jae Young against the wall.
Hyun Wook: How could you say something like that? If you kept it to yourself, nothing would have happened. If you kept it to yourself, nothing would have happened to us.
Sun Jin happens to pass by and stops the fight. Sun Jin asks for Hyun Wook to make Se Na leave the company.
Se Na is on her phone, when an angry Jae Young sees her. "Be prepared. Just watch how I ruin Lee Hyun Wook because of you."
Later that night Hyun Wook is unable to sleep and we get a shower scene LOL.
The broken phone rings once again. Hyun Wook answers it. It's Se Na.
Se Na:
It's me again Sis, I just want to write a good song and I wanted to win.
I didn't want to disappoint him. I like that someone is depending on me.
No one's depended on me like that before.
I want to do well. I really want to do well.
But I keep losing confidence.
The next morning, Se Na goes to Hyun Wook's house but can't bring her self to go in. Hyun Wook is watching her from his window.
Hyun Wook: What are you doing here?
Se Na: I was just passing by (the neighbourhood)...
Hyun Wook: I saw you walking back and forth earlier.
Se Na: Truth is, there's something I'm curious about. When were you able to write your best songs?
Hyun Wook: Can I borrow something for the afternoon?
Se Na: What?
Hyun Wook: Yoon Se Na, you.
He takes her to an art gallery. Grabs her face to tell her to look at the paintings.
As they leave, he lectures her to look at things with etiquette. He doesn't pay attention and walks into a glass door.
Next destination is an abandoned amusement park.
Se Na: Is it ok we play all day like this?
Hyun Wook: You can't come up with a song just by thinking all day.
...
Se Na: One day, this place will probably be gone.
Hyun Wook: It won't be gone. It'll stay alive in people's memories. As a brilliant experience and as a precious memory.
The carousel lights suddenly light up as Hyun Wook's memories come alive.
Hyun Wook: Someone's memory becomes a song and that song becomes someone else's memory. That is how the cycle goes round and round.
...
Se Na: Ajusshi, by chance... do you have a memory here? (Hyun Wook is silent) What did you do here? Your first kiss?
She gets no reply.
As they are walking back to Se Na's place. Se Na shows something that she and sister use to do; sliding down railings. Hyun Wook is once again reminded of So Eun.
Se Na: Ajusshi, you know you still haven't answered me. When could you write songs the best?
Hyun Wook: When I was in love.
Hyun Wook at home talks to the wooden trinket with So Eun's broken phone and bracelet, about hanging out with her younger sister today, it had been a while since he had fun. "It would have been nice if the three of us went". He regrets having held onto So Eun back then.
Cut to Hae Yoon thinking of Ra Eum's words... definitive moment... She calls Ra Eum who hangs up. She then receives a call from Jae Young. He wants to gift her with jewellery? But she refuses and says she will take the champagne.
She excuses her self once he mentions Hyun Wook chasing after Se Na.
At AnA, Se Na has finished writing her song... as Hyun Wook walks in she thanks the neighbourhood ajusshi. Hyun Wook grabs the song. He notices their closeness and gives it back.
She thought she was nearly complete, but she hasn't recorded a guide or arranged the song. Rae Hun recorded for Jae Young, so she was wondering if he would for her. He just tells her to use Shi Woo, since they bonded over the slap.
She is at the recording room. Jae Young's arranger still refuses to help her but sneaks in a few tips on how to use the machine.
Hae Yoon is ready to spill coffee on herself as she "bumps" into Hyun Wook. But she is startled by a staff and spills it on herself before commencing her "definitive moment".
Se Na works hard arranging her song, she nearly finished but hasn't started her guide. She scouts the trainees, reasoning with them, whose good side do you want to be on? Producer Seo or the company president? They still refuse.
Shi Woo over hears and comes over to say "Don't ask me to be your guide". "I wasn't going to, Rae Hun says you can't sing." "What is he talking about? I'm really good at singing."
He ends up being the guide.
As Shi Woo reads the lyrics, he is noticeably touched.
At a company meeting, Jae Young arrives to state his leave of AnA. Another staff runs in to say that MHDR wants to break up. Jae Young is smug. All his doing? Hyun Wook takes note of his reaction to the news.
Hyun Wook: You think I will do as you want?
Jae Young: You'll do what I want. I have a very big card up my sleeve. (he texts Hyun Wook a final present).
Hae Yoon chases after Jae Young.
Se Na and Shi Woo finish recording. Shi Woo obviously oblivious to the news. He takes her phone to get her number. "Let me know as soon as possible the outcome. Tell me first."
Shi Woo gets another call, as Se Na finds out of MHDR's break up and Seo producer leaving through a trainee. Seo producer is taking MHDR with him except for Shi Woo.
Hyun Wook tells her not to worry.
Hyun Wook goes to confront his father
Hyun Wook: I have something to confirm... Who is that woman? Is she a trainee? Answer me. Have you touched a trainee?
Father: Is that the card Jae Young used? I have nothing to hide. She wasn't underage.
Hyun Wook: Father!
Father: Then it's time to use my card. Jae Young went to India 3 years ago. He probably smoked marijuana. Tell that to Reporter Kim...
Hyun Wook: How can you disappoint a person this much? Not even a year after mother dies... You remarried a woman 20 years your junior. I tried so hard to understand you. Even when So Eun died! When I heard you were sick... I was worried about you. But the person I call my father... Is this all you amount to? I don't want to ever see you again... What ever happens to the company, MHDR it has nothing to do with me.
His father is left unfazed. The Wife over hears everything.
Se Na sits in her dark room searching on her phone about MHDR. Jae Young's word ring in her ears "Be prepared. Watch what happens to your precious backer Lee Hyun Wook.". She takes Joo Hong's boyfriend's life size dog costume to cheer up Hyun Wook.
He relays a message under the guise of Se Na's friend Dal Bong.
She is worried that it's her fault things went wrong. She's disappointed she couldn't play the song she worked so hard on. If they had battled, she would would have crushed Jae Young in one blow. She says she's sorry and feels deeply ashamed. But feels relieved she doesn't have to leave, so she's going to work really hard.
"Se Na asked me to stay with you. Otherwise you'll be lonely."
Hyun Wook: Is your friend Se Na ok? (She nods and he takes off the head)
Se Na is crying underneath.
