Kotoko squeals with joy when she enters the medical building on campus. She is extra delighted as Naoki's department is right next to hers. She makes her way to her class room, she bursts through the door, exclaiming HELLO~ Everyone laughs under their breath... She now remembers that she knows no one in the room and that everyone is 3 years younger.
Kotoko awkwardly finds a seat. The girl next to her asks whether she is new. She introduces herself as Ogura Tomoko.
The professor enters the room, takes the roll and splits the class into teams. Kotoko is in her own world, hands together looking up to nothing as she swears to becoming a legitimate nurse. She starts fantasising helping Naoki as he operates on a patient - giving him equipment and wiping his sweat.
Her name is called several times but Kotoko doesn't respond until Tomoko breaks her daze. Kotoko jumps up saying: Yes! I will always go and support you! Kotoko and Tomoko are on the same team.
Tomoko introduces Kotoko to her other teammates. Kotoko is greeted by glares, finding the teammates intimidating. The female teammate introduces herself as Shinagawa Marina. Marina asks whether Kotoko transferred because there is some boy she likes in the medical department. Kotoko eyes light up - bullseye! Marina gets excited as she's in the nursing department for the same reason.
Marina's goal is to marry a doctor so that her child would have excellent DNA etc, the guy in the checkered shirt gets riled up. His name is Kamogari Keita. Apparently the two always fight. His goal is to become Japan's number one nurse.
The guy in black creeps up behind Kotoko asking if she has any relation to that Irie. Kotoko gets startled and asks whether he is a man. He says he is a woman inside and his name is Kikyo Motoki, but doesn't mind being called Moto-chan.
Tomoki asks again whether Kotoko has any relations with Naoki before exclaiming how brilliant Naoki is. Kotoko says she has heard of him... Tomoki continues to praise Naoki for being extremely good looking and intelligent. Marina chimes in saying that Tomoki has even created a fan club for Naoki.
Tomoki and Marina start bickering about whose love for Naoki is more pure and possible. Kotoko mentions that Naoki is married. They both divert their attention to Kotoko, asking how she knows. Kotoko responds rapidly saying its just a rumour. Tomoki and Marina wonder what kind of woman Naoki is willing to spend the rest of his life with, hoping to meet her.
The team is now in the Nursing Practice Room where Tomoki is plotting to visit Naoki's home after school to spy on his wife. Kotoko panics silently as she is taking the blood pressure of Keita. Keita has to stop Kotoko as the device is on too tight, his arm's colour was changing.
Kotoko gets worried as she can't hear Keita's heart beat... All this time Kotoko was using her stethoscope on Keita's arm on the wrong side. Kotoko asks for one more chance, but she has already failed 6 times... Keita lectures her that she shouldn't become a nurse for frivolous reasons. Kotoko firmly denies that, saying she wants to be Naoki's support. Tomoki immediately catches on, asking why that is.
Kotoko loudly replies that she is Naoki's wife... all the students in the room laugh. Tomoki doesn't believe her. Meanwhile, Naoki enters the room to have all the girls screaming. Naoki finds Kotoko to give deliver her wallet which she left at home and immediately leaves.
All the classmates turn around slowwwwwly toward Kotoko. Kotoko is already apologising, not meaning to withhold the truth. Tomoki and Marina forgive Kotoko - as they don't have a reason to give up Naoki, before thinking that Naoki's wife would have been someone Marina couldn't reach.
Kotoko continues to bond closer to her teammates although failing numerous times in mock patient activities. She is also happy that she can confidently say she is Naoki's wife.
The next challenge for Kotoko is administering injections. She is already squeamish from the thought of blood as their instructor demonstrates. Tomoko looks on with anticipation. The instructor announces there will be a test next week.
The team receive their practice equipment. Keita is the mock patient, Tomoko seemingly obsessed with needles asks to go first, pushing Keita down onto the hospital bed. She gives an eerie smile to the team when she is asked how it went. Kotoko is last to have a go whilst the others succeeded.
Kotoko readies herself, closing her eyes, she takes a random jab... and leaves the needle in the shoulder pad (which blinks green when the needle is injected properly; red flash with beeping when incorrect). Kotoko tries numerous more times, each time with her eyes closed until all her classmates have left, leaving behind just her and her team.
For always causing her team to finish last, Tomoki suggest for Kotoko to organise a get-together with Naoki. Before she can answer Naoki comes in with Seiichi, Naoki asks for Kotoko to not work in the same hospital he is in if she is to continue like this. Keita says it will be impossible for her to become a nurse and that Naoki the genius should do something about it.
Naoki states that he didn't become a doctor just because of Kotoko. That if Kotoko doesn't have the ability to become a nurse then it isn't his problem. Keita points out that Kotoko is his wife, Naoki replies that if Keita has such a problem why doesn't he do something. Keita is taken aback by Naoki's words. In the background Tomoko, Marina and Tomoki have their mouths hanging in awe of Naoki as he leaves.
Keita is angry, asking why Kotoko married Naoki. Because of his face, status? Keita believes that marriage should involve the couple supporting one another. Tomoki chimes in to say that Kotoko doesn't seem to be loved very much by Naoki.
At home, Kotoko is cutting onions and questioning whether she can really become a nurse. Naoki's mother enters the kitchen, noticing Kotoko is crying (from the onions), and cheers her on for entering a foreign field for Naoki. She encourages Kotoko by telling her to imagine working for a small clinic on an island with no doctors, it will just be Kotoko and Naoki.
Naoki interrupts their wild imaginations. Naoki asks how a nurse can't even give an injection. Naoki's mother defends Kotoko - she has been working hard in studying, being a wife, cooking etc. Naoki mentions that he won't be home for dinner tomorrow as he has a get together with his classmates.
Kotoko interviews him with her ladle as to the location of the event - Shibuya.
The dinner is crashed by Kotoko and her class mates... Naoki is upset as Kotoko attempts to hide behind a menu. Kotoko receives a side glare from Naoki, having called Seiichi last night for the location.
A beef steak special is placed on the table, Tomoko immediately grabs it... cutting menacingly into the meat with precision. She admits to entering into the nursing field because she likes cutting meat... everyone on the table is a bit... scared as she raises her knife and fork. Tomoko is genuinely surprised when she is told that she won't be able to use a scalpel. She even has a scalpel engraved with her name on it.
Kotoko catches Naoki having fun/smiling at the table across hers, noting that he is having fun with a woman at that. Keita notices and says that Naoki is so easy even though he is married. Seiichi chimes in to say that Naoki was always popular, Marina comes over to talk to Seiichi, he freezes.
Seiichi thinks Marina is okay although having acted coldly towards her when Kotoko asks. Kotoko accidentally reveals to everyone that Sheiichi has fallen for Marina at first sight.
Marina mentions that Seiichi will never beat Naoki, Seiichi hears this and stands up ffrom his table, vowing that he will be better than Naoki and that Marina will end up taking back her words and dating him.
Kotoko is apparently drunk off orange juice? Lets hope for her sake she did actually drink some alcohol. She lectures Keita to become more respectful towards her as she is older than him by 3 years. She slaps him on the back. She complains of Keita nagging, she slams her orange juice repeatedly on the table until she spills it.
Keita starts squeezing Kotoko's cheeks playfully, Naoki watches on jealously? Keita reminds Kotoko to act more maturely since she is older. Kotoko rests her arm across the table falling asleep, Keita watches her smile in her sleep which brings a smile to his face...
The team notices that Kotoko has fallen asleep, Keita offers to take her home since Naoki seems to be having fun. Naoki approaches, noticing Kotoko having fallen asleep and takes her home. Keita says he will, so Naoki can spend time with the girls. Naoki warns that Keita should stay out of other people's business.
Kotoko pops up, rambling about getting better at injections. She notices Naoki and raises her arms up to be carried. Naoki does so, before he leaves he tells Keita not to refer to Kotoko as this person.
Naoki piggybacks Kotoko, she repeatedly says chu (sound of a kiss or first syllable to injection). Naoki tells Kotoko to not mention injections again, she gives him a kiss on the cheek, he smiles. His expression changes once he takes note of Keita.
It is test time, Keita draws and is selected as the mock patient. He fears Kotoko whom tries to reassure him that she has practiced on the dummy many times.
It is Kotoko's turn and she is nervous. Keita tries to calm her down by helping her on what to do. Kotoko accidentally pricks herself with the needle, she lays eyes on the spot of blood on her finger and faints. Keita carries her to the on-campus first-aid bay, asking for everyone to move out of the way as he runs across the campus (Naoki notices as Keita runs past his class).
Keita places Kotoko on an empty bed, as he leans into kiss an unconscious Kotoko. We hear Naoki's voice. Naoki thanks him but also tells Keita that he should go back and reminds him that Kotoko is married.
Keita delcares that he cares for Kotoko much more than Naoki and that he would treat her better. The two have a stare off as Kotoko stirs awake.
