Itazura na Kiss 2: Love in Tokyo Episode 15 Recap

Kotoko is at the top of the stairs as she spots Naoki. Kotoko excitedly makes her way down with her homemade bento in hand. She slips on a step and falls onto Naoki. Kotoko starts to get up but notices that Naoki isn't responding. She calls for him repeatedly.

Kotoko sits in the hospital ward as Motoki runs to her, having heard what happened. Kotoko is panicking, worried that Naoki will die. Motoki calms Kotoko down, encouraging her to trust Dr Nishigaki.

Kotoko silently prays for Naoki's safety as Motoki reassures her with a hug.

Naoki wakes in his hospital bed with a broken leg. He now recalls what happened.

Kotoko comes by with her nursing cart, she is thankful that Naoki is awake. She takes his temperature and blood pressure. Naoki asks for his condition, Kotoko responds telling him that there is a light fracture in his left leg and he will have to be hospitalised until it gets better...
Kotoko flashes back to Dr Nishigaki telling her that the reason Naoki was knocked unconscious was because of exhaustion adding it will take 2 months for Naoki to fully recovery, reassuring her that nothing is wrong with his head.

Kotoko takes the blame for his exhaustion and vows to become Naoki's legs until he recovers.

Naoki is spoon fed his lunch by Kotoko. He refuses to accept the spoon feeding. Naoki's mother takes this opportunity to snap some photos, who has come to visit with Yuki and Konomi.

More visitors come to the door, it's Kin and Chris with her crutches. Kin laughs at Naoki, calling him uncool and pitiful. Kotoko readies her equipment to take Naoki's blood sample and insert a drip. Everyone watches in anticipation. Kotoko takes Naoki's arm as he asks whether there isn't any other nurse.

Kotoko preps Naoki's arm, she tightens the rubber tourniquet like there is no tomorrow. Naoki winces from the pain. Kotoko takes her first jab and wonders why it didn't work... Naoki reprimands her as the angle was completely off. Kotoko readies new needle after new needle until she finally succeeds, everyone claps as Naoki complains why it took her so long to do one task. Just as she is about to open a root for the drip, Naoki has to remind her there already is one... Kotoko gives off an awkward smile to everyone.

So begins Naoki's life in the hospital.

First off, Kotoko volunteers to peel an apple for Naoki but she managed to cut herself with the first peel. She then takes Naoki on a stroll with a wheelchair... clumsy Kotoko doesn't watch where she is going as she almost wheels Naoki into a pole.

Kotoko is about to get off her shift as she tends to Naoki who asks for her to place some files on his desk. Entering the medical office she meets Dr Kato who points her towards Naoki's desk and also asks about Naoki. He calls Naoki lucky as he has an admirable wife looking after him. Kotoko loves the praise, so much so she gives the Dr Kato a "little" shove, he spills his coffee onto Naoki's notes.

Kotoko blots the notes dry with a towel... Dr Kato tries to see light in the situation, reassuring her that as long as it is readable it should be fine.

The next morning, Tomoki brings in Naoki's breakfast. Naoki notes that it is rare to see him; Kotoko keeps away all the nurses. As Tomoki takes a seat to feed Naoki, Kotoko yells for him to stop. Kotoko enters with a bento.

Kotoko sets her bento out, having felt bad that it was this bento that caused him to become hospitalised. She promises to make it every morning. Chief assistant Shimizu reprimands Kotoko for not attending a meeting and forgetting her shifts with other patients. Kotoko rushes off.

Dr Kato enters Naoki's room to ask a question about a patient. Naoki advises Dr Kato of his recommended procedure. Naoki apologises for being unable to do the operation and tells Dr Kato that he has notes prepared on his desk which has yet to be written in the medical record. Dr Kato remembers the coffee spill accident earlier on...

Kotoko is on a night shift, she is patrolling the hall way. She stops at Naoki's room to take a peek at his sleeping face. Kotoko leans in for a kiss, Naoki's eyes pop open just before she reaches his lips. Kotoko jumps back in fright.

Naoki sits up to confront Kotoko about his coffee stained notes. Instead of letting the notes dry slowly, Kotoko had tried to speed up the process by pressing the notes in between newspaper... resulting in pieces of the newspaper sticking onto the notes. Kotoko's intention was to lessen his load but rather she has added to both his and Dr Kato's. Kotoko calls herself a pest, asking Naoki whether she is a bad wife. Naoki pulls her in for a hug.

Naoki says he is just as bad; he wasn't able to catch her which lead him to be hospitalised. He calls himself a failure as a husband; not being able to somersault and land properly to catch the wife he loves. Putting a smile on Kotoko's face, they smile at each other and kiss.

Naoki has learnt the feeling of other patients, having been hospitalised and how hard Kotoko has been working as a nurse. He also notes that a nurse and patient in this kind of situation is kinda sexy... LOL...

The next morning, Kin confides in Naoki wanting advice on proposing. Asking how Naoki proposed to Kotoko. Naoki remembers that it was on the day Kotoko dumped Kin, he announced in front of the family that he would marry Kotoko (he asked Kotoko's father for her hand in front of the family). Kin is puzzled as Naoki did it without asking for Kotoko's consent. Naoki disagrees as he knew Kotoko's answer without her having to say it.

Kin rises from the bench, pushing his side burns back as he walks away. Kotoko spots the two, Naoki tells Kotoko that Kin is probably going to propose to Chris. Kotoko's reaction is delayed... she displays disbelief before she happily swoons over the happy moment for Chris. She turns back to Naoki who has already begun walking off with his crutches.

Kotoko follows Kin to the hospital rooftop, she stalks the moment from behind a door. Chris doesn't accept Kin's proposal, she asks for Kin to forget about her. Kin calls after Chris before dropping to his knees.

Kotoko hurriedly finds Chris, asking why she rejected the proposal. Chris asks for a favour, for Kotoko to leave Naoki to marry Kin... Kotoko is talks to Naoki about the unexpected turn of events, Kotoko didn't receive an answer as to why Chris rejected the proposal.

At the Aihara restaurant, Kin has been unresponsive. The chef guesses that he must have broken up with Chris, Mr Aihara is hesitant to believe that. Kin gives a glare to the chef before aggressively peeling the corn leaves and eating it raw. Mr Aihara and the chef continue to talk about Chris as if Kin isn't there, Kin becomes more upset, snapping the corn in half. He runs out of the restaurant.

Chris sits holding her knees to her chest, Abe-san (the patient next to her) offers her a momiji manju (bun filled with sweet bean paste). They both eat one, Abe-san says that sweet things are the best when you're upset. Abe-san's son, Yuichi visits.

Yuichi turns to see Chris, he is in awe, spacing out as Chris politely smiles and bows her head to Yuichi. Abe-san asks for her son to buy some candy before leaving, he asks which floor it was again before Chris volunteers to walk him there. The two wait for the elevator, Yuichi is surprised to have met such a cute girl whilst visiting his mother. Chris thanks him for the complement. Kin watches on.

Yuichi asks if Chris has a boyfriend, she hesitates before crying.

Kin rushes to grab Yuichi by the collar, pinning him to the wall, accusing him of making Chris cry. Kin further accuses him of having dated Chris and made her cry. Kotoko stumbles across the commotion as people have stopped to look on. Kotoko calls Kin's name, he releases Yuichi from his grasp.

Back in Chris's hospital room, Kin and Kotoko apologise to Abe-san and Yuichi. Abe-san blames her son, saying she would have come to the same conclusion if she saw Chris crying. Yuichi leaves to head back to work.

Kin continues to apologise for the misunderstanding. He had promised to himself that he would be happy for Chris having found a new guy, that being the reason for her not accepting the proposal. Chris clears the misunderstanding, telling Kin that she only ever liked him. That she had dreamt of the proposal and was happy that Kin still proposed even though she has scars now. The reason she refused the proposal was because she thought he felt bad for her.

Kin asks why she even thought it was out of pity. He doesn't care about the scars. He asks whether she will believe him if he becomes the same... he runs out of the room, Kotoko chases after him as Chris hobbles behind her. Motoki is walking with a kettle on his tray down the hallway. Kin runs straight towards him and grabs the kettle.

Kotoko wrestles for the kettle. Chris headlocks Kin whilst Motoki swiftly grabs the kettle from Kin. Chris apologises for rejecting the proposal, Kin asks whether she really thinks it would be possible to live together out of pity.

Chris asks for Kin to propose one more time so she can answer properly. Kin gets nervous in front of the people watching now, but he knows he has no other choice. He yells "Would you marry me, Chris!". Chris says "Yes, I love you".

Chris says she is blessed and plants a big kiss on Kin. Kin swoops in for another kiss. Everyone watching on squeals with joy and claps for the newly engaged couple.

It is finally Naoki's discharge day. Kotoko greets Naoki with the gang minus Keita with a bouquet of flowers. Kotoko bats her eyelashes, drifting off into her own world, thankful that the hospitalisation strengthened Naoki and her relationship. In the background, Naoki is walking off. Kotoko returns to reality, before leaving Naoki thanks the gang for coming down to greet him.

Kotoko pouts about their busy schedules having to start up again.
