RECAP Episode 1
The drama starts off introducing Lee Hyun Wook (Rain) who gets into a heated argument with his girlfriend Yoon So Eun. He pulls the car over to cool his head.
They both watch as a car's wheel suddenly pops causing it to crash into another car. The incoming truck crashes and rolls, hitting Hyun Wook's car with So Eun still in the vehicle. Hyun Wook runs to open So Eun's door but the impact blows him back.
She ends up dying in his arms.

Fast forward 3 years.
We are now introduced to Yoon Se Na (f(x)'s Krystal) and a kitten (a stray but still cute). Se Na is found by loan sharks. Presumably she experience this often and is on the run to her next destination with her bags already packed.
We are now introduced to Shin Hae Yoon (Cha Ye Ryun). Short run down: she works for AnA (an entertainment company), is strong business women type person and has a one sided love for Hyun Wook (she is in the friend zone). She receives a phone call informing her that Hyun Wook has been sighted at Jeju Island, thus she flies over.
It has been three years since she has seen him or heard anything of him. She pleads with him to return to Seoul but he isn't interested.
A storm starts to ensue and Hyun Wook gets this mystery phone call from So Eun's cracked/broken mobile (my mind - it still has a battery life after THREE years?!).
He answers it. It is Se Na on the other line (voice mail). With tears, she pours out her hardship, not having anywhere to go, scared of being alone in a world with so many people and asking why So Eun left her.
Se Na has no place to turn to but her friend Joo Hong (Lee Cho Hee). Joo Hong welcomes her and comforts her. Se Na asks if she can "borrow" Joo Hong's name for her next job to avoid the loan sharks.
The next day Hyun Wook goes to the electronic repair store, where the attendant confirms that the device is broken and couldn't have possibly received any calls. Confused he returns to his car and we meet Dal Bong (a cutie golden retriever!).
Se Na now works for a hotel as a server.
Meanwhile, Hyun Wook hires an investigator to find the whereabouts of Se Na.
To cut the story short, Hyun Wook goes on a walk with Dal Bong (he stays at same hotel Se Na works at) dog runs off and finds Se Na. Hyun Wook catches up, they talk, doggie jumps on Se Na and she slips. Cue Hyun Wook catching her by the waist.
Hyun Wook sees her name tag and calls her Joo Hong. Se Na almost gives her real name away but chooses not to.
The next day the staff are notified of the pool party that is going to be held by AnA. Se Na is requested to Hyun Wook's room (he is known as "Handsome dog man" to the staff - 개미남) and she becomes pet sitter to Dal Bong.
Off goes Hyun Wook to have a meeting with Hae Yoon - they visit a restaurant he use to go to with So Eun revealed by an ajumma whom recognises him... Hae Yoon gets pissed and leaves - she's upset that he doesn't come after her.
After Dal Bong refuses to eat his dog food. Se Na gives him a whole fish(?) sausage. He chokes on it and is sent away via an ambulance?!
At the vet clinic Hyun Wook discovers that Dal Bong has cancer and because of his old age, surgery is not recommended.
We also get a flashback - Dal Bong was Hyun Wook and So Eun's dog since he was a puppy.
Se Na anxiously waits outside the hotel for both of them to return. Immediately asking whether Dal Bong is ok. Hyun Wook is at first mad but relents. The next day Se Na is called in once again. Hyun Wook lays down strict dietary rules she has to follow if she is to remain as a pet sitter.
Later that night, we see Se Na recording her demo CD.
The next day, we cut to a van arriving - out comes Infinite Power/MHDR (4 member idol group). Screams are heard from fans. Hyun Wook gets an update a from his investigator - he is given Se Na's address.
Hyun Wook arrives at her neighbourhood to run into Joo Hong. He asks whether she know a "Se Na" - she acts as though she hasn't seen her in the longest time.
The concert takes place. After party - we are introduced to MHDR's Shi Woo (Infinite's L) and leader Kang Rae Hun (Infinite's Hoya).
Se Na takes Dal Bong for a walk and entrusts her coworker to look after Dal Bong while she takes her place serving the party. Se Na wants to give her demo CD to one of the executives. The coworker ends up losing Dal Bong (how Dal Bong unhooked his leash - I have no idea).
Hyun Wook comes across his father. They don't have the friendliest relationship. Hae Yoon tries to persuade Hyun Wook to fix their ties and tells him that his father is VERY sick. Over the loud speaker - it is announced that a golden retriever has gone missing. Hyun Wook immediately knows it's Dal Bong.
Meanwhile, Shi Woo gets jealous when he sees Yoo Ra Eum (Bestie's Na Hae Ryung) the girl he likes being chummy with Rae Hun. Shi Woo takes her by the wrist and pulls her outside. He confesses his feelings but is completely shut down by her - she basically laughs in his face. Se Na witnesses this and hides behind her trolley.
Shi Woo spots Se Na and suspects her of being a saseang and searches whether she recorded the conversation. Instead he finds her demo CD. She admits that she is an aspiring composer. He scoffs. He pulls her inside to the stage to play her CD. Hmm.. really now.
He stops the DJ and plays her CD. The CD starts with Se Na introducing herself and describing the song to be about falling in love at first sight. The crowd laughs along with Shi Woo.
She stops the CD and Shi Woo further gives nasty comments. Leading Se Na to slap him (cue me: slow clap). She calls him a piece of trash. Shi Woo not letting go, follows her outside to continue to put her down.
She asks whether he is mad at the fact that she watched him get rejected, further angering him. His manager comes out at the right time and pulls him away.
Hyun Wook arrives moments later yelling/accusing Se Na of leaving Dal Bong to chase after celebrities. She is only now aware that Dal Bong is missing and offers to search for him. Hyun Wook gets angry, vents and she vents.
Her boss shows up and says that Dal Bong has been found. Se Na tries to defend herself but is fired.
Mr investigator calls with an update. Informing Hyun Wook that Se Na works at the hotel he is staying at and that he may have seen her. But rather than going by the name Se Na she uses the name Joo Hong. Realisation comes across his face.
He runs to the lobby and asks for Se Na but by this time she has already packed and left. He spots her at the bus stop across the road. He tries calling the number he was given and Se Na picks up, but he can't bring himself to speak.
Their eyes meet.
THOUGHTS
Surprisingly, I quite like this drama upon watching the first episode. By far this is not a drama that will blow your socks off for how deep it is, or make you grab your tissues and cry till your eyes are swollen. This drama is light and the type of makjang drama that I have watched over and over again but haven't quite gotten my fix of all these years. It's a ball of cheese but I like it... predictable... but I like it.
Krystal as the female lead... Personally I think she suits the role and her acting is quite natural. Better than what I anticipated. Rain and Krystal do suit each other?!... the age gap isn't apparent in the acting. Although the storyline is slightly... odd... I dated your older sister but now I'm going to like your younger sister... hmm... I will continue watching.
